Anyone who has a cat or more cats at home will have been woken up at least once by their meowing or their mischief. Very often this single episode will repeat itself over time, becoming a very annoying routine, not appreciated by us owners.
But what are the real reasons that push your cat to disturb you during your night sleep?
Your cat is often bored! We don't always stimulate our cats during the day. And if your answer is: but we are not at home during the day. Well, that's not a good excuse. You can stimulate your cat with interactive or stimulating games such as those with catnip, or scratching posts, which do not necessarily have to be miles high. It is true that cats love to sleep, but it is also true that they love to play and have fun. For this reason, it is important that the house becomes a welcoming and stimulating place for your cat.
Your cat is hungry! If your cat wakes you up during the night, he may be hungry, and you will surely get out of bed to feed him. VERY WRONG!!! Cats love predictability, we are the ones who give them their daily routine, and if he associates food with his nightly meow, every night he will come to wake you up and look for food. Try leaving food available during the day when you are not there, and let him have one last meal before going to sleep, whether it is wet or dry.
If despite all the precautions taken, your cat continues to wake you up at night, ask your vet for advice, who will certainly be able to give you more specific advice to solve the problem!
Tell us your opinion!!!
