HOW TO TRANSPORT YOUR DOG IN A CAR

A thorny but very important topic for our safety and the safety of our 4-legged friends is CAR TRANSPORTATION of our dog.

It seems that when it comes to the safety of transporting dogs in cars, everyone has their own theory, but in reality our highway code is clear!

REMEMBER that following these simple rules will not cause you to incur heavy fines and will not put your safety or that of others at risk.

But what does the law say? The dog can be placed inside a carrier or travel on the back seat with a seat belt or in the trunk with the addition of a dividing net that limits its movement, disturbing the driver.

Paragraph 6 of Article 169 of the Highway Code prohibits the transportation of domestic animals in numbers greater than one and in any case in conditions that constitute an impediment or danger to driving. This means that it is permitted to transport dogs, as long as they do not hinder the driver and do not endanger driving safety. 

The Highway Code (art. 169) allows the transport of one or more dogs in a car, provided that they are kept in conditions that do not constitute a danger or obstacle to driving .
